There is nothing artificial about the green grass of the British countryside. It is natural in every sense with the weather of course playing an important part. Our fair share of rain throughout the year, whilst it has its drawbacks, at least nurtures the grass and greenery of our landscape. The National Parks of England and Wales are great examples of this. Our artificial grass factory is in Maryport. Based on the edge of one of the most popular English National Parks, the Lake District. So we are very aware of the link between weather and landscape. It is also the biggest at some 885 m2 or 2,292 km2.
The first ever designated English National Park (1951) was the Peak District which lies mainly in the county of Derbyshire. For those who have been to Derbyshire they know that it has many things to offer visitors. From rambling countryside walks to historic country houses and medieval castles. This includes Peveril Castle one of the earliest castles constructed in England by the Normans.
For those who have not been to Derbyshire they will in fact already be familiar with it. It has been featured many times in literature and on television. The great poet and writer Sir Walter Scott wrote a novel called ‘Peveril Of The Peak’. And Jane Austen referred to Chatsworth House in her novel “Pride And Prejudice”. She even has Mr Darcy referred to as “owning half of Derbyshire”.
The photograph below was sent in to us by a customer in Derbyshire who, after installing an area of decking in their back garden, decided to compliment it with an artificial lawn.
